Video glasses simulate big-screen experience

An example of new visual technology designed for the average consumer.
Companies that make projectors & big screen TV's can't be too crazy about it.

Taking a bigger look at the industry of technologies that circumvent or were designed for certain forms of reintroduction. The original iMacs true purpose was to get rid of lots and lots of CRT monitors Apple had kicking around from their previous lines of hardware, if you dig around inside one you can find that it attaches to the mother board with the old mac VGA interface. I thought it was hilarious when I found this out that because the iMac was so popular they had to buy more of the CRTs they were trying to get rid of in the first place. notice how much the 2002 iMac changed. I am floored.

Amazon's Kindle is a new electronic device that maybe the book (and the book store), of the future. The Kindle, which is lighter than the average paperback, has a six-inch high-resolution screen that looks and reads like real paper. Wireless connectivity enables you to download entire books in minutes from almost anywhere. Amazon's CEO Jeff Bezos hopes the Kindle will spark the Book 2.0 revolution.

what do you people think about this? It makes my eyes hurt...

I think that creating an electronic device which enables us to read our favorite books, magazines etc.. is a great idea. Like the Ipod has created and better versions of their software, this is using the same approach. Clearly the creator is trying to attract the people who love to read, but also the ones who are on the go, already have small devices in there lives such as cell phones mp3's. This device just enables people to have an option of gaining what they want in a much easier compact fashion. I don't believe that books will ever be extinct per say but its just another example of how technology is the way of the future.
